About Michelle Burke
Mind How You Go is a music and storytelling show written and performed by singer Michelle Burke, directed by Gerda Stevenson and featuring pianist James Ross. With songs from Burke's album produced by Duke Special, it presents a rollicking, poignant tale of devotion — featuring moving statues, nuns and American cousins. From her great-grandfather's imprisonment for Irish independence to Uncle Pat's return on the day Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, the show explores the constraints of religion, the strength of women and what it means to be Irish in Scotland. Running 60 minutes at Playground 1, suitable for ages 8 and over.
Why see this show?
A beautifully layered piece that blends live music and personal history into something genuinely moving. Michelle Burke's songs and storytelling carry you from laughter to something much quieter — a rare combination at the Fringe.
