Jacobite Edinburgh 1745 – A Healthy Walk Through History is a 90-minute historical and spoken word walking event by Jacobite Reminiscences, starting at Meeting Point. The event takes audiences back to autumn 1745 — described as the most dangerous, dynamic and exciting weeks in Edinburgh's long history — when the city was occupied by Prince Charlie's Army. It investigates how the Jacobites breached Edinburgh's walls, how the army secured its money and arms, what happened during the Battle of Lawnmarket, and the fates of the Lord Provost and the Marquis of Montrose, all through eyewitness testimony, CSI techniques and old-fashioned detective work. Suitable for audiences aged 14 and over.
