Google Awful Shoes CollectiveAbout the show
Invisible Space is an immersive headphone theatre experience by Awful Shoes Collective at Just the Spare Room, using silent disco technology. Inspired by the ancient Chinese tale The Legend of the White Snake, the show imagines what happened to Bai Suzhen after Xu Xian's death, re-examining the story's portrayal of great love. Audiences become active participants, immersed in a vivid soundscape of voice, music and movement through wireless headphones. The result is an intimate ritual of mythology, connection and reimagined love stories. Suitable for ages 12 and over.
Why see this show?
Headphone theatre transforms the audience's relationship to the story — you are inside it, not watching it. Awful Shoes Collective takes an ancient love story and makes it something shared, strange and quietly beautiful.
