About the show
I See You Watching is a provocative and darkly playful physical theatre work by professional company Blind Faith Theatre. On a bare stage, a woman — played by Kylie Westerbeck — fights for survival while navigating the relentless demands of a master of ceremonies, played by David Calvitto, who dictates her worth. Trapped in the male gaze and forced to perform, she must unravel the expectations that bind her and find a way to escape — or revolt. Running for 60 minutes at Doonstairs and suitable for ages 16 and over, the show carries content warnings for distressing themes, scenes of a sexual nature and strong language.
Why see this show?
Rigorous, physically demanding and unflinching, this two-hander examines the invisible structures that confine women. A haunting piece of devised theatre that earns its intensity.
