Two armed robbers have interrupted Billy and Elise’s morning to steal... well, they aren’t sure yet.. Hands Up! is a witty, high-tension comedy with an ever-present looming threat of the Big Boss. An unlikely friendship blooms as two inept robbers hold these housemates/exes at gunpoint for a painfully uncertain amount of time. After all, while the people robbing you await further instructions, why not bond over a weirdly emotional round of Never Have I Ever? Existential realizations unfold as the group endure the most cordial house invasion of the century in Izzy Higgins’ Fringe debut.

About the show

Hands Up! is a character comedy and new writing piece from a student theatre company, performed at Studio as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Written and directed as Izzy Higgins' Fringe debut, the 45-minute play follows two armed robbers who interrupt Billy and Elise's morning without quite knowing what they intend to steal. Holding the housemates — who are also exes — at gunpoint while awaiting instructions from the Big Boss, the group end up bonding over a round of Never Have I Ever. The show is suitable for ages 14 and over.

Why see this show?

A tense, witty two-location comedy where an inept armed robbery somehow becomes a bonding session between strangers. High stakes, low competence, and a surprisingly emotional game of Never Have I Ever — all in 45 minutes.
