About Ricky Hunt
Ricky Hunt brings a work-in-progress stand-up hour of queer chaos, class trauma and disco dancing to Basement. Tall, gay and working-class, Hunt was raised on a surreal Essex cat sanctuary with a red living room he called Hell and a mum with a stencil addiction. Now based in Walthamstow Village, the show dances through buffet omelettes in Ibiza, opera intermissions, Clacton ghosts and the dread of a notification. It runs for 45 minutes and is suitable for audiences aged 16 and over. Tickets are £5.
Why see this show?
A work-in-progress with this much personality and specificity is worth catching before it gets polished. Hunt has a distinct voice and a genuinely funny premise about being too posh for the chip shop but too skint for the tasting menu.
