Faustine is a solo musical by Lydia Brinkmann, presented by Sarah Norcross Theater Anywhere at Theatre 3 as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Faustine is excited to share her dissertation — except she has sold her soul to the devil in exchange for her brilliant thesis, and lied, cheated and murdered to get where she is. This darkly comic critique of academia, ambition and class draws comparisons to Heathers and Hedda Gabler, described as equal parts pedestrian and academic, hilarious and horrifying. Running for 50 minutes, it is recommended for audiences aged 16 and over.
