End of the World FM is an absurdist one-man show by Kevin Martin Murphy, produced with the Wandering Artist Collective. It follows a radio host through the apocalypse as he descends into isolation and madness — a high-octane dark comedy about the encroaching dread of doom-scrolling timelines. Imaginary guests, satire-filled news commentary and a meditation on how we recover after disaster collide in a show described as a cross between Black Mirror, Mock the Week and Tim Key. It won Best New Writing at Wandsworth Arts Fringe 2023. Running 60 minutes at Theatre 2, it is suitable for ages 16 and over.
Why see this show?
Dark, funny and genuinely unsettling, this solo show captures the particular anxiety of living with constant bad news and a fractured sense of reality. Tight writing and physical commitment make it well worth catching.
