About Riverdale Country School
Effie Jean in Tahiti is a family theatre show by Riverdale Country School, a student and youth company, performed at the Lower Theatre as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Princess Effie Jean has struck a bargain with Proteus, the Old Man of the Sea, and finds herself stranded in Tahiti guarding his jewels. When her own brother arrives on the island — the very person she is supposed to kill — she and he must outwit Proteus together. Their quest draws help from vain Cassiopeia, Queen of the Night Sky, a school of flounder, and good old-fashioned song and dance.
