The Edinburgh Renaissance Band, joined by the Edinburgh Early Dancers, returns with their ever-popular Viol Rackett Show — a programme of music and dance spanning the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. Eleven musicians display a remarkable range of period instruments including shawms, cornetti, sackbuts, nakers, viols, fiddles, crumhorns, gemshorns, bells, bagpipes and racketts, accompanied by colourful costumed dancers. Musical director Murray Campbell fronts the performance with lively presentation. Suitable for all ages; children are especially welcome and attend free, though tickets are required.
