If there's one thing worse than classism and the disparity of wealth in this country… It's FOMO. The plot of Hannah Montana. If Hannah Montana was a Scouser. And instead of a pop star leading a double life, she is a Cambridge Student trying to conceal the fact she is working as a cleaner. ETR is a comedy which demonstrates the myth of meritocracy, the sacrifices we make to get ahead and who, in the end, these decisions will always disproportionately affect. Jade Franks Fringe debut.

About the show

Jade Franks and JFR Productions present a comedy that draws a sharp parallel between class, ambition and the price of fitting in. A Cambridge student leads a double life — studying by day, cleaning by night — desperate to conceal her working-class roots. Taking cues from the premise of Hannah Montana but transplanting it to a Scouse setting, the show unpacks the myth of meritocracy and the personal sacrifices people make in pursuit of upward mobility. This is Jade Franks' Fringe debut, running 60 minutes at the Queen Dome.

Why see this show?

A fresh, funny debut that tackles wealth disparity and belonging without moralising. The Hannah Montana comparison is inspired — absurd enough to disarm, sharp enough to sting. Worth catching early.
