About the show
Dregs is a d/Deaf-led storytelling show from Emery Hunter and Bobby Bradley, performed at the Netherbow Theatre. A selkie stranded on land collides with a stranger completely out of his depth, and together they navigate a chaotic Saturday night in Glasgow to help her return to the water. The show blends narrative theatre with visual storytelling and is performed in BSL and spoken English simultaneously, challenging how we connect across languages and cultures. Originally commissioned for the Village Storytelling Festival in 2024.
Why see this show?
A folklore-rooted show told simultaneously in BSL and spoken English — an approach that feels genuinely new rather than accessible as an afterthought. Glasgow mythology with real invention behind it.
