About Alice Connolly

Drawing from Life is a contemporary performance life drawing class by Alice Connolly, held in the Studio. The show invites the audience to draw a nude body — or to look beyond the surface and draw from the life that has been stitched and stuffed inside it. Art materials are provided for those who wish to draw; spectating is equally welcome. Audience members may even be invited to join the nude body and unpack their own stitching. The event runs for 45 minutes and is for ages 18 and above, with warnings for audience participation, nudity, distressing themes, strobe lighting and strong language.

Why see this show?

Part performance, part life drawing, part provocation — this immersive show asks you to look past skin and consider what bodies hold. Intimate, thought-provoking and genuinely participatory.
