About Nawr ond Wedyn
Cyn is an interactive storytelling drama by Nawr ond Wedyn, an amateur company, performed at Mint Studio during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Set in Wales in 1995, 10 years after the mine closed and the village is still bleeding, the show centres on Emyr, a bitter and solitary pub patron whose life changes at the unwelcome visit of Simon, a wealthy Englishman. Over the course of the show, the audience are invited to sing, laugh and cry along as Emyr and Simon's differences and stereotypes are put to the test. This bittersweet drama looks back at the miners' strike and asks where the heart went. Running 60 minutes, it is suitable for audiences aged 14 and over.
Why see this show?
A bittersweet look at a community still carrying the weight of the miners' strike, told through two men in a near-empty pub. The audience sing along — which makes the questions the show asks land somewhere real.
