Classical Bagpipe Music – Scotland's Hidden Treasure is a traditional music concert presented by The Piobaireachd Society at The Concert Room during Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Three musicians — Alasdair Henderson, John MacDonald and Brodie Watson-Masse — perform a variety of piobaireachd, the classical music of the great Highland bagpipe, Scotland's national instrument. The tunes are played in continuous fashion for a unique musical experience. Piobaireachd is largely composed using pentatonic scales, and despite the bagpipe's limited range of notes, a wide variety of tonal mood is achieved. The concert runs for 90 minutes.
