I grew up playing classical piano, but failed my conservatory audition at 18. After some time focusing on MDMA, I started stand-up in 2011. During the pandemic I came back to the piano and now I've combined them. It's my favourite piece, Chopin's Nocturne in Eb Major, presented with jokes by a bald, Australian dickhead with a beard. Best Comedy Adelaide Fringe (Weekly). 'This should not work, but it does' ***** (List). 'Punchlines that will leave you laughing for days on end... This is what a well-crafted comedy set looks like!' ***** (Advertiser, Adelaide).

About Aidan Jones

Aidan Jones is a bald, Australian stand-up comedian with a beard who grew up playing classical piano before failing his conservatory audition at 18. After years away from the keys he returned to the piano during the pandemic and combined it with stand-up. This show presents his favourite piece, Chopin's Nocturne in Eb Major, performed live alongside original jokes at TechCube 0. The result is a 60-minute comedy and music show that, by the performer's own admission, should not work.

Why see this show?

A genuinely unusual Fringe show: live classical piano performed by a comedian who failed his conservatory audition, woven together with stand-up material. The unlikely combination of Chopin and punchlines makes for something that resists easy categorisation — and that's precisely its appeal.
