About Bruntsfield Baroque
Bruntsfield Baroque — comprising Vickie Hobson on viola da gamba, Sheena Jardine on violin, John Sampson on recorders and Frances Scott on keyboard — presents a programme of eighteenth-century trio sonatas. The concert reflects an evening with the celebrated Edinburgh Musical Society, exploring how European musicians were drawn to make Edinburgh their home and embraced native songs and tunes alongside Scots composers such as William McGibbon and James Oswald. The Athens of the North was a melting pot, and this concert brings that era to life. It runs for 60 minutes at Church, suitable for ages 5 and over.
