About Rebecca Weston Wright
Boxed In is a dark comedy and new writing piece by Rebecca Weston Wright, performed at Olive Studio. The show follows A, trapped in a cold, bleak room after a devastating heartbreak, wrestling with obsessions and compulsions that threaten to overwhelm her. With nothing to distract her, she whiles away the time reliving mishaps, escapades and setbacks — with only an irritating, provocative and relentlessly talkative wooden Box for company. The show ranges from the inherently ridiculous to the acutely painful. It runs for 50 minutes and is suitable for audiences aged 14 and over.
Why see this show?
A sharp and unusual dark comedy that uses OCD and heartbreak as raw material without ever trivialising either. The wooden Box as a character is an inspired conceit, and the result is something both funny and genuinely affecting.
