Book NowAbout the show
Between The River And The Sea is a solo theatre performance by Palestinian-Israeli actor Yousef Sweid, created with Isabella Sedlak of the Maxim Gorki Theater. Raised as a Christian-Arab kid in Haifa, now raising two Jewish-Arab kids in Berlin, Sweid explores his in-between-ness — a place where contradictions clash and slogans fail. With biting humour and raw honesty, he weaves personal stories, political reflection and absurd everyday moments into a sharp, unflinching performance. This is not a neat narrative but a plea for nuance, for listening, and for stories that rarely get told. Contains distressing and potentially triggering themes, scenes of a sexual nature and strong language.
Why see this show?
Uncomfortable and funny in equal measure, this is a rare and genuinely necessary piece of theatre. Yousef Sweid's sharp, unfiltered solo performance refuses easy answers and earns its complexity through personal honesty.
