Becoming Maverick
Heather Alexander – Emul8 Theatre • Professional company
About the show
Heather Alexander performs this new writing solo show at the Haldane Theatre, inspired by the character of Mrs Danvers from Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca. The story follows a wholly imagined creative origin: a child found locked in a trunk and sent to an orphanage asylum who, driven by shadowy memories, battles outrageous injustice and learns to twist the fate dealt to her. Running for 50 minutes and containing distressing themes, this is a rollercoaster of emotions with a very unexpected ending. Suitable for ages 12 and over.
Why see this show?
A gripping solo show that reimagines one of literature's most chilling characters from scratch. Heather Alexander's performance builds to a genuinely unexpected ending — an intimate and inventive piece of new writing.
