Although we generally consider the Romantic period to have begun in the 19th century with composers such as Schumann, Chopin and Liszt, and to have culminated with Richard Strauss, there are romantic elements in the musical idiom of both earlier and later periods, most notably in the music of JS Bach. Warzycki's recital programme will demonstrate this in a selection of music stretching from Bach to our own time.
