About Hannah Maxwell
BABYFLEAREINDEERBAG (WIP) is a 60-minute solo theatre work-in-progress by Hannah Maxwell at Former Gent's Locker Room, Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025. Framed as a focus group and pitch meeting, the show has Maxwell asking the audience which of her personal traumas is most fundable, marketable and ripe for TV adaptation. Having received critical acclaim for a show about grief, addiction and mental breakdown, she is stuck on how to escalate with her next confessional piece. The show interrogates the risk and cynicism in telling one's own story onstage. Tickets are £10 and the show is suitable for ages 14 and up.
Why see this show?
A work-in-progress that turns the meta-mechanics of the confessional show format into the subject itself. Maxwell's self-aware interrogation of what makes trauma marketable is sharp and formally inventive.
